The Cultural Programme

A language study stay in Tuscany is the perfect opportunity to discover the innumerable artistic and cultural treasures that this region has to offer.  Daytrips, which can be booked in addition to the language course, offer the possibility to visit some of the most beautiful places in the area.  One can visit  the historic cities of Pisa, Sienna, San Gimignano, Lucca and Arezzo; picturesque medieval towns such as Lucignano, Vinci, Colle Val d’Elsa and Monteriggioni; the  Etruscan towns of Volterra and Cortona; the seaside resorts;  Collodi, to see the famous park which is a memorial to Pinocchio; the Chianti wine region; and  Lake Trasimeno; these are some of the sights that are guaranteed to  leave you with  unforgetable memories of Tuscany.

A trip to Tuscany would be incomplete if it didn’t include it’s most famous city, Florence, a city  whose architectural images dating from the 14th century and onwards exceeded Italian boundaries and became reknown throughout the world.
With organised day trips to Florence, you can discover and enjoy it’s unique atmosphere; it was the flourishing city of the Medici family, the place in which  Italian humanism was born and the city in which  lived such great artists as Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Botticelli and Brunelleschi.  You will enjoy an atmoshphere rich in history and tradition that is felt even today in the city and pervades it’s ancient streets. Walking through the city you can  pass before such monuments as the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, crossing through the Piazza della Signoria with the majestic Palazzo Vecchio and the splendid Uffizi museum housing it’s artistic treasures.

We can provide you with all the information necessary to take full advantage of all that Tuscany has to offer and book and organise daytrips at the beginning of the course and every Monday.  For further details, please refer to the Language Programme  page.
